Wish you could join your WEDC Sister Tribe for a more adventurous outdoor experience? Well here’s your chance!
We will meet at 3:45 PM sharp, then carpool up the mountain to the hiking and camping location on the Enfinger property. We will spend about 30-45 minutes for mingling and setup. Then we will take a hike (about two hours) around the mountain and learn some interesting facts about the Cherokee Indian burial ground on the side of the mountain. Once we return to the campsite, we will start the fire, roast some hotdogs and s’mores, and enjoy time together around the campfire. During mid-April, sunset is around 7:30 PM.
Hike and Dinner Option:
For those only wishing to hike and eat dinner on April 13, you will carpool together to the hike and fireside location. Make sure to bring a folding chair and any drinks you prefer. Once we have finished dinner, you will then travel back to your cars and head home for the evening.
*This registration option can also be selected for anyone with physical restrictions or who would like to just sit and enjoy the mountain view while others are hiking. You will then be able to enjoy the company of everyone for dinner before heading home for the evening.
Overnight Campers:
For those choosing to camp/glamp, we will spend the first 30 minutes setting up camp before the hike. Once we return, we will start the fire for an evening of roasting hotdogs and s’mores, enjoying fireside conversation and shenanigans, and sleeping in the great outdoors. In the morning, we will enjoy the fire once again for coffee and breakfast, and another short morning hike to start our day.
The goal is to pack light, however, you will want to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, flashlight, small overnight bag and toiletries, a folding chair for around the fire, and any additional food or drinks desired. Please let us know if you have a tent for sharing, and the tent capacity. Or if you need a spot in someone else’s tent. Some are choosing to sleep under the stars.
*Make sure your phones are charged before arrival. Don’t worry, there will be a potty on-site.
**An instructional email will be sent out prior to the event.
